2. Schinkelbos & Amsterdamse Bos walking route

The forest of Schinkelbos is only about twenty years old, but that certainly makes it no less special for a nice walk in Aalsmeer. Here you can witness the Amsterdamse Bos at its beginnings. The Schinkelbos is part of the area named Groene AS, an important ecological connecting route. The Schinkelbos has its own atmosphere with unique plants and animals. Very special animals even, such as the green woodpecker, the grass snake, and the Scottish highlander.

You can park your car in the parking lot near the Renaissance Hotel, on the southern edge of Amsterdamse Bos. Then walk straight through the forest to the beautiful windmill De Zwarte Ruiter and the Oosterbad. After this, you turn around, back towards the parking lot. This walking route is about 6 kilometers.

Need a break after a long day of walking? Then settle down on one of the terraces in Aalsmeer and enjoy a snack or drink while looking out over the water. Aalsmeer entrepreneurs are eager to welcome you!
