2. The Seringenpark

You probably know that Aalsmeer is world famous for its flower auction. But did you know that the famous flower village is also an important place for lilacs? Thanks to the fertile soil of the islands in the lake area, Aalsmeer is the perfect place for growing lilacs. You can admire these beautiful shrubs yourself in the Seringenpark on Ophelialaan. The park was built in 1951 at the foot of the Molenvliet and is an ideal place for walking and cycling along these special plants.

3. Oosteinderpoel

The Oosteinderpoel is located above Aalsmeer, right next to the village of Oude Meer. In this nature reserve, you will find several islands and creeks that used to form the boundary of the original lake. It looks a bit like the Biesbosch area, with nice passages and overhanging branches. In addition to a variety of plants, you will also find many birds here, such as the hawk, buzzard, and gray heron. Good to know: the Oosteinderpoel nature reserve is only accessible by boat. Discover this quirky area during a beautiful boat trip and enjoy an unforgettable day on the water.

4. The Schinkelbos

Would you like to go on a walk? You can enjoy nature in peace and quiet in the Schinkelbos. Forest, grassland, reeds, and open water make up the area. Since 199, the Schinkelbos has been part of the famous Amsterdamse Bos. A special landscape has been created to protect a variety of plant and animal habitats. The Schinkelbos is also part of the ecological connection De Groene AS. This runs between the green areas of Amstelland, Spaarnwoude, and the Westeinderplassen. The perfect place for a wonderful hiking or cycling trip.
